Enhance your piping system with ASL Engineering's stainless steel elbow tube type, which is designed to change fluid flow direction effectively. These elbows connect two pipes of the same or different diameters, turning them at specific angles such as 45 degrees or 90 degrees.

Types of Steel Pipe Elbows

Classified by Direction Angle

  1. 90 Degree Elbow
    • Long Radius (LR) 90 Degree Elbow: Ideal for high-pressure and high-flow rate pipelines. It changes direction at 90 degrees and connects hoses to pumps, deck drains, and valves.
    • Short Radius (SR) 90 Degree Elbow: Used when space is limited. It's similar to the LR 90-degree elbow but with a shorter diameter, suitable for compact spaces.
  2. 45 Degree Elbow
    • Long Radius 45 Degree Elbow: Produces less friction and lower pressure compared to the 90-degree elbow. It's widely used in chemical, food, water supply facilities, and other industries.
    • Short Radius 45 Degree Elbow: Connects various materials such as copper, plastic, steel, cast iron, and lead. It's also applicable in solar equipment pipelines, air conditioning systems, and horticulture.
  3. 180 Degree Elbow: Changes direction at 180 degrees, typically used in systems with minimal deposition and low turbulence.

Classified by Connection Types

  • Butt Weld Elbow: Formed by hot pressing or forging, this type is directly welded to steel pipes, making it suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature applications.
  • Socket Welded Elbow: Connects via sockets, typically used for smaller pipe sizes.
  • Threaded Elbow: Connects via threads, suitable for low-pressure applications.

Material Types

  1. Type 304/304L
    • Contains approximately 18% chromium and 8% nickel.
    • Offers good resistance to atmospheric corrosion and various chemicals.
    • Versatile with good formability and can be specified for higher strength applications.
    • Non-magnetic in the annealed condition but may become slightly magnetic after cold working.
  2. Type 316/316L
    • Contains chromium, nickel, and molybdenum for enhanced corrosion resistance, especially in halide environments and reducing acids.
    • Type 316L is ideal for welded applications as it prevents chromium carbide precipitation.

Applications

  • Oil & Gas: High durability and resistance to corrosion.
  • Petrochemicals: Suitable for harsh chemical environments.
  • Power Generation: Withstands high temperatures and pressures.
  • Pharmaceuticals: Maintains purity and prevents contamination.
  • Chemical Industry: Resists corrosive chemicals and ensures long-lasting performance.

Key Features

  • Durable Construction: Made from AISI 304 and 316 stainless steel for enhanced durability.
  • Corrosion Resistance: Suitable for various industrial applications, ensuring longevity.
  • Versatile Applications: Fits a wide range of piping systems with different connections and material types.
